2008 Conference Information
2008 ICSOM Conference
Hotel Kabuki, San Francisco to host 2008 ICSOM Conference, August 20-23, 2008
The unique Hotel Kabuki in San Francisco's Japantown has been named the host hotel for the 2008 conference of the International Conference of Symphony and Opera Musicians (ICSOM). The conference, hosted by the San Francisco Ballet Orchestra, San Francisco Opera Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony and AFM Local 6 will be held August 20-23, 2008.
The former Hotel Miyako is in the final stages of a $10,000,000 renovation to become the four-star Kabuki, one of San Francisco’s premier boutique properties. Adjacent to Japantown Center and the Peace Plaza, the hotel is close to the world-famous Kabuki Springs & Spa and the exciting Filmore Street shopping and entertainment district, conveniently located near the center of the city at 1625 Post Street.
The meetings will be held in the Sakura Conference Room which overlooks a beautiful Japanese garden complete with koi pond. Amenities of the Kabuki include complimentary high-speed wi-fi, a modern fitness facility, restaurant/bar, complimentary morning newspaper, complimentary sake hour daily, Japanese tea and nightly turndown service, personalized concierge services, iPod docking stations, 26 inch LCD flat screen televisions, and more.
ICSOM has negotiated a rate of $129 single or double, an unbelievable rate for such a fine property in the pricey San Francisco hotel market. This promises to be a conference to remember. Our room block has been increased to accommodate local officers, committee chairs, AFM officers, IEB members, AFM staff, and of course families.
Conference information and reservation information will be sent to delegates, AFM officers and staff and local officers who attended the 2007 conference in late April/early May 2008 by ICSOM Secretary Laura Ross.
See you in San Francisco!
