ICSOM Publications

One of ICSOM’s goals since its earliest days has been an effective communications network among orchestras. The goal behind such communication—the mutual sharing of ideas, of solutions to problems, of contract information—is to help each orchestra solve its problems more effectively, improve its position, and thus improve the lot of the community of orchestras.

Senza Sordino, an inter-orchestra newsletter, was first issued in 1963 and continues to be ICSOM’s most visible publication.

ICSOM bulletins are prepared and mailed by the ICSOM secretary. They are also posted on the ICSOM website.

Bulletins are also posted on Orchestra-L, ICSOM’s computer mailing list. Orchestra-L provides a forum for discussion and exchange of information.

Delegate online communications may be carried out on Delegate-L.

An ICSOM website, www.icsom.org, was established in 1996 and makes available much material for research and downloading, including all issues of Senza Sordino.

First published in 1972 and now issued annually, the ICSOM Directory contains names, addresses, phone numbers, and e-mail addresses of members of all ICSOM orchestras.
