CSO Preview Weekend on WFMT (98.7-FM) September 7 and 8 to Highlight Music of the CSO and Expanded Programs at Orchestra Hall



The music of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and its greatly expanded 1996-97 CSO Presents concert series will fill the airwaves on September 7 and 8 when WFMT (98.7-FM) broadcasts a special program entitled CSO Preview Weekend. The weekend-long broadcast will provide listeners with the opportunity to survey the incredible range of music scheduled this season at Orchestra Hall and to design their own subscription packages from selected 1996-97 series concerts. A range of exciting premiums, including the chance to win a Caribbean cruise, will be offered with every new subscription order. During the CSO Preview Weekend program, listeners may call (312) 294-3000 to order their Subscribe By Design package.

CSO Preview Weekend will air on WFMT from 7:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and 3:00-8:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 7, and from 7:00-10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 8.

Any combination of at least six separate concerts purchased by phone becomes a customized subscription offering many regular subscription benefits without the restrictions of being locked into specific seating or schedules. Subscribe By Design subscriptions also receive a 20 percent discount off the regular ticket prices for selected CSO Presents concerts.

In addition to the CSO, listeners can call for tickets from more than 60 concerts in the following series: Great Recitals, International Orchestras, Great Vocalists, Virtuoso Piano Series, Basically Baroque, Virtuoso Chamber Ensembles, World Music at Orchestra Hall, Ameritech Jazz at Orchestra Hall, Pop Concerts, and Special Events.

Everyone who subscribes during CSO Preview Weekend will receive a free Chicago Symphony CD per each order and is automatically entered into the CSO Sweepstakes for a Western Caribbean cruise aboard the Princess Cruises Sun Princess liner. Different CD's will be offered at various times throughout the two-day event.
