The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra Musicians today voted in favor of a 3 year Labor Contract. The terms include growth for the musicians, which include:
Year 1--$800/week, 34 weeks, and as of Feb. 1, 1997--3% to the A.F.M. pension plan
Year 2--$810/week, 35 weeks, and as of Feb. 1, 1998--3.5% to the A.F.M. pension plan
Year 3--$820/week, 35 weeks, and as of Feb. 1, 1999--4% to the A.F. M. pension plan
The Negotiating Committee was chairman Don Harry, Melanie Haas, Clem Fleshler, Robbie Hausmann (ICSOM Rep), Alan Ross, Colin Smith, and Sal Andolina. Our attorney is Leonard Leibowitz.
Before the vote, the musicians took up a collection for fellow musicians in the former San Diego Symphony and Sacramento Symphony, which will be forwarded shortly.
