The Richmond Symphony ratified a 4-year agreement on Sept. 11, 1996 which runs from Sept. 1, 1996 to Aug. 31, 2000.

Their season remains at 38 weeks.

Wages: Increases were 3.25%, 3.25%, 3.5% and 3.5%.

Pension was increased from 2% to 3% for the first two years and 4% for the final two years of the contract.

Health Insurance - individual coverage will be increased from 50% to 55% in years one and two and 60% in the final two years. Family coverage will remain at 50%.

Included in doubling changes was the addition of "out of family doubling" which includes whistling, clapping, humming, dog barking at 5%.

There were other changes to the agreement which included increases in severance pay, 3 service days, a financial shut down clause removal and the loss of an outdoor temperature limit.
