Jody Doherty Appointed Vice President for Public Affairs By Pittsburgh Symphony Society

 

PITTSBURGH, Dec. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Gideon Toeplitz, Executive Vice President and Managing Director of the Pittsburgh Symphony Society, announced the return to the organization of Jody Doherty to the newly created position of Vice President for Public Affairs, effective January 6, 1997.

Between October 1994 and December 1995, Ms. Doherty had been Director of Communications for the Symphony. In the position of Vice President for Public Affairs Doherty will be responsible for public and media relations as well as internal and external communications at the local, national and international levels.

Commenting on the appointment, Toeplitz said, "I am delighted that Jody Doherty is coming back to the PSO family. Her diverse background, energy and creativity should combine to produce dynamic results for our organization."

For the past year, Jody Doherty has been Chief of Staff to Larry Dunn, Chairman of the Allegheny County Commissioners. In the past she served as Commissioner Dunn's press secretary and was an award-winning producer and the News Assignments Manager at WTAE-TV.
