On Monday, December 16, brass players from the Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Montreal, Savannah, and Atlanta Symphonies will present an

ALL-STAR BRASS & PERCUSSION SOLIDARITY CHRISTMAS BENEFIT CONCERT.

Confirmed players include Robert Earley, Roger Blackburn, David Wetherill, Eric Carlson, Blair Bollinger, Shelly Showers, Charles Lirette, Roger Sherman, William Caballero, James Markey, Sumner Erickson, Michael Grose, John Zerbil and the ASO brass and percussion sections. Pecussion players from the Atlanta Opera and Atlanta Ballet will also participate. ASO tubist Michael Moore conducts. The players will perform in large ensemble, quintets, and like-instrument ensembles. Repertoire will include works of Lizst, Ewazen, Gabrieli, Altenburg, R. Strauss, Mahler, Arnold, Bach, Beethoven, Prokofieff,C.T. Pachelbel, James Newton Howard, and selected holiday favorites.

The players are graciously donating their time for the benefit of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Players, who were on strike for 10 1/2 weeks.
